of Raja Shivaji is scheduled within next few months now.
It
will undoubtedly be a mega event -
a virtual “digital
coronation” of
this great Indian.
In
a different way, it may also realize the prophetic
words of a visionary, who had foreseen the emergence
of multi-media in as early as 1945:

new forms of encyclopedias will appear readymade with
a mesh of associative trails running through them…
All our steps in creating or absorbing material of
the record proceed through one of the senses - the
tactile when we touch keys, the oral when we speak
or listen, the visual when we read. Is it not possible
that Some day, these paths we converge & be established
directly?.”

a lofty Himalayan peak or trekking inaccessible reaches

so like triumphant explorers, we successfully overcame
bad weather, insufficient resources and unforeseen
difficulties that seemed to deter our progress.

projects like these are usually beset with a shortfall
of funding, which we are confident the national as
well as global Maharashtrian Diaspora will help us
to overcome.
We feel that the launch of this Web-Encyclopedia
will see a new dawn in the pooling, management and
dissemination of History resources.
